omyspy I bought The Way because it looked nice and was extremely cheap, little did I know it would be such a beautiful game, in part due to the incredible soundtrack. The music is filled with atmosphere and emotion, it still hangs heavy on me. Favorite track: Thoughts for better life.

kakichi One of the best game soundtracks I've had the pleasure of listening to. Bought this about 4 years ago and still love it as much today as the day I bought it. Chatted with Panu and they were quite nice to chat with and would love to hear more. This game deserves to be played and the music cherished. Favorite track: Proceeding forward.

midnightdeadite I was in the Nintendo shop on my switch looking for games to play and to find something unique, I came across "The Way" and gave it a chance. It was literally .99 cents and thought what the hell, let's try it out... Never did I think I'd become instantly captivated and spellbound with my first experience playing this game but what mostly resonated with me is the soundtrack. I fell in love with the music because of the aesthetics of sound, the trance it put me in, and the euphoria I felt. Favorite track: Home alone.

about

I worked with this fantastic indie game about an entire year. All the music was composed by using analog and digital synthesizers and other hardware equipment (not a cheap hobby).

Many songs required a lot of work but there are also moments of instant, spontaneous improvising.

For fellow gear nerds, here is list of my setup used for the game soundtrack:

Synthesizers/sound sources:
- Yamaha CS-50
- Roland RS-505
- Sequential Circuits Pro-One
- Roland MKS-80
- Generalmusic S3 Turbo
- Technics WSA1
- Roland JV-2080 (+ Vintage Synth, Orchestral, World)
- Roland JD-990 (+ Vintage Synth)
- Korg X3R
- Yamaha EX-5R
- Korg O3 Symphony Module (choir)
- Akai S2000 (Spectrasonics - Symphony of voices)
- Yamaha CP-60M
- Simmons SDS8

Effects:
- Lexicon 224
- Lexicon PCM-70

All the sequences were performed in live, triggered and transposed with Zyklus MPS-1 - Midi Performance System, except in "Virtual reality" where Pro-One was used. Oberheim Systemizer handles the advanced master keyboard functions.

Later I will prepare for real deluxe double CD album, all printed and professionally mastered! Besides the music I will include a lot of art from the game.

The game itself is available here:

Also on GOG and Humble store.

Here's the game trailer I composed as well:
